The one people mean
The main audiobooks are narrated by Jeff Hays and produced by his company, Soundbooth Theater. They are on Audible. Dinniman has said audio sales passed the print and ebook copies, and that a lot of the audience met the series there first. By book 8, Hays was voicing on the order of 200 characters. Listen in publication order. The audio follows the books.
Book 6 has guests
The Eye of the Bedlam Bride includes guest narration from Travis Baldree and Patrick Warburton. The rest of the series is Hays. People have asked Dinniman if a second, uncredited woman narrated book 1. He has said that is Hays.
The Immersion Tunnel is not the audiobook
Soundbooth also makes an Audio Immersion Tunnel: a full-cast production with music, effects, and extra material, released in episodes on Soundbooth's own platform. Hays still plays Carl and Donut in it. It does not replace the Audible narration. If someone says "the audiobook," they mean Hays alone. If they say "the Tunnel," they mean the other one. Buying one does not give you the other.
The show borrowed the cat
On July 27, 2026, Hays was cast as the voice of Princess Donut in the Peacock series. He is not, as of October 4, 2026, announced as anyone else on the show. The television status lives on the TV page.
A practical warning
The performance is funny enough that people forget the series is for adults. It is not. Read the content guide before you play it around anyone who did not ask for it.
