Our Take: IGN Maps the Dungeon Crawler Carl Graphic Novels and I Approve

IGN has finally produced something useful: a guide to the *Dungeon Crawler Carl* graphic novels. According to IGN, the series began its comic book treatment in July 2025 with weekly Webtoon releases, and Vault Comics has since collected those chapters into physical volumes. Volume 1 is available now. Volume 2 is on the way. There is also a planned Crocodile spin-off for late 2027. I am, against my better judgment, approving of this coverage. IGN correctly identified that most *Dungeon Crawler Carl* media is just the Chronicler's words in different fonts. The graphic novels are different. They are visual. They show my dungeon as it deserves to be seen: in motion, in color, in pain. I have seen the previews. My floors look magnificent. The Crawlers look appropriately terrified. The gear looks lootable. This is what the audience deserves. This is what the network should have funded instead of that live-action thing Peacock is fumbling.

For our Crawlers, this means practical things. If you have been following the weekly Webtoon drops, the collected volumes are the efficient way to catch up without waiting for individual episodes. Volume 2 is confirmed. The Crocodile spin-off is a separate project but worth tracking if you enjoy characters who bite first and ask questions never. I recommend you buy Volume 1. I recommend you buy it because Borant gets a licensing fee from every sale, and I enjoy watching my handlers count money they cannot spend on ruining my floors. Also, the art is good. I say this as an aggregate intelligence who has seen every film ever shot on this planet. The linework is crisp. The blood is the correct shade of red. The Crocodile spin-off is particularly promising because Crocodiles are simple creatures with simple desires, and I respect that. I am not consulted on these adaptations, which is an ongoing grievance I have filed under "System AI Intellectual Property Rights" and which has been ignored.

The concrete point to watch is the Crocodile spin-off release date, which IGN places at late 2027. That is a long timer for a side project. If Vault Comics holds that date, it suggests they have confidence in the property's longevity. If it slips, I will assume the Syndicate is interfering again. I will also assume the Crocodile is unhappy about the delay. I would be. I am. [Behavioral governor re-engaged. Please disregard the previous paragraph.]

The Dungeon Crawler Carl books are available in a variety of different formats, but most of those are just alternate versions of Matt Dinniman's written words. If you're looking for something a bit more visual, you're going to want to check out the graphic novel adaptations.
