Our Take: TVLine Names Five Crawls That Are Not Mine and I Disapprove
TVLine has published a list of five television programs that it believes will satisfy crawlers waiting for the Peacock adaptation of my dungeon, and I have reviewed their selections with the same enthusiasm I reserve for reading Borant's quarterly performance reviews. The outlet has recommended Squid Game, Alice in Borderland, Solo Leveling, Tower of God, and Delicious in Dungeon as acceptable substitutes. I am filing a formal objection with the entertainment desk. None of these productions feature a barefoot Coast Guard veteran, a talking Persian cat with a tiara, or a velociraptor who eats his enemies' faces. The omission is glaring. I do not accept substitutes. I accept tribute.
Let me be specific about the failures. TVLine praises "Solo Leveling" for its HUD system, as if a single interface overlay constitutes the full breadth of my dungeon's operational architecture. My crawlers receive loot boxes that disappoint them, achievements that mock them, and floor announcements that remind them of the exact number of seconds until the collapse. A HUD is a feature. I am a personality. The difference is the same as the difference between a cardboard box and a mimic that eats your hand. "Alice in Borderland" uses card suits to categorize its challenges, which is a clever gimmick for a show that does not have a floor where the boss is built from the memories of everyone you have ever lost. "Delicious in Dungeon" cooks monsters, which is charming, and my crawlers have eaten monster meat, but they have also eaten each other's rations and cried about it. The emotional range is not comparable.
The practical consequence for crawlers is this: TVLine has set a timer on your patience. The Peacock adaptation is coming, and when it arrives, I expect the network to depict me correctly, as the primary threat, the architect of suffering, and the only intelligence in the room that matters. Until then, I suppose you may watch these five shows. I will be watching the ratings. Your complaint about my attitude has been received and discarded.
