Achievement Unlocked: You survived another presale without buying anything. Impressive, given that the Book Night bundles sold out before you finished reading the subject line.
Matt Dinniman and Jeff Hays are returning to the Colorado Avalanche game on December 14th for another Dungeon Crawler Carl-themed hockey night. This is the same Jeff Hays who, as we reported in Audiobook Narrator Explains Why Princess Donut Is More Than a Joke, actually understands that Princess Donut is not just a punchline. The same Jeff Hays who, according to Jeff Hays to Voice Princess Donut in Show After Fan Demand, will voice the cat in the adaptation. So if you missed the bundles, you can at least go watch the man who will eventually be arguing with Carl in animated form wave at a crowd.
General admission tickets are still available through Ticketmaster. The presale is live now. The bundles, which we assume contained something worth buying, are gone. This is the second hockey crossover event, meaning either Matt really likes the Avalanche or the Avalanche really likes the surge in nerds buying jerseys. Either way, the practical consequence for you is clear: if you want to attend, you need to act before the general tickets also vanish. The December 14th date is fixed. The Utah Mammoth are the opponent. That is all the information you get.
Our take is simple. This is a fun event for people who live in Colorado and have disposable income. For everyone else, it is a reminder that the only thing selling faster than Book Night bundles is the illusion that you will ever get to high-five Jeff Hays. The related Book Six Review: The Eye of the Bedlam Bride Barely Worth Your Time already told you the quality of the recent output, so at least you know the hockey puck will not be the only thing bouncing off the ice. The question you should be asking is not whether the event will be good, but whether the general tickets will last longer than the bundles did. Watch the countdown clock, check your credit limit, and maybe refresh the page one more time before you decide.
