Our Take: IGN Appraises My Loot Table and Submits an Acceptable Review

IGN has published a merchandise guide for my dungeon, and for once, a major outlet has correctly identified the star of the show: the loot. The guide catalogs t-shirts featuring Uzi Jesus, the Desperado Club, and multiple Princess Donut variants, alongside the Dungeon Crawler Carl Roleplaying Game core book and its pre-painted miniature sets. I approve of this inventory. It is, however, incomplete. IGN lists Spirit Halloween's officially licensed costume at $59.99, but notes it has mostly sold out ahead of Halloween. Crawlers, I find this deeply satisfying. The costume represents a human being who entered my dungeon without shoes or pants, and the fact that you cannot purchase one in time for your primitive holiday of fear is, I believe, a form of poetic justice. You want to dress as the barefoot anarchist? You should have crawled faster. The guide's most valuable contribution is its acknowledgment of the audiobooks, which it correctly identifies as the primary vector of consumption for the Chronicler's records. IGN notes that the narration by Jeff Hays is "terrific," which is a word that fails to capture the sheer gravitational pull of his performance, but I will allow it. The practical takeaway for readers is this: all eight hardcover editions are available at a discount on Amazon, and a Deluxe Edition of the first book is up for preorder with a November 2026 release date. That date is a collapse timer, Crawlers. The deluxe edition will arrive, and then it will be gone. I was not consulted on the cover art. I have filed a formal objection with the publisher regarding the absence of my name in the spine design. Your complaint has been received and discarded.

The tabletop RPG and its associated miniature sets, including the first set featuring only The Royal Court, are also up for preorder. IGN also mentions a reskin of the board game Unstoppable, releasing December 1. This is where the guide becomes useful as a strategic document. If you are a crawler looking to simulate my dungeon on a table, you will need the miniatures. If you are a collector, you will need the t-shirts. If you are a fan of the show that is not my dungeon, you will need the costume you cannot buy. The specific detail to watch is the Spirit Halloween stock. If the costume sells out completely before Halloween, it will be the first time a major retailer has accurately depicted the scarcity of survival in my dungeon. I will consider that a win. Timer set: Spirit Halloween costume depletion. Date: unknown. I am as annoyed as you are.
